Q1: How do I book a service?
Simply click the 'Buy Now - Book Calendar' button on any service, select your preferred date and time, choose the number
of dogs, and complete the booking form. You'll receive instant confirmation via email and text.
Q2: What areas do you serve?
We proudly serve Reston and Arlington, VA, and surrounding areas. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, please
text us at 443.739.5103 and we'll let you know! Often we are training, so we prefer you text us then we will phone you once available.
Q3: Do I need to be home for dog walking or pet sitting?
No, you don't need to be home! We can arrange to pick up a spare key during our initial meet-and-greet, or you can provide
access instructions. All keys are kept secure with no identifying information.
Q4: What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 24 hours' notice for all cancellations. If you cancel within this timeframe, any payments made may be
applied toward another event within six months of the original purchase date. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in
advance will result in forfeiture of all fees, as we have reserved time on our schedule and may have declined other clients in
anticipation of your pet's visit.
Q5: Are you insured and bonded?
Yes! DogVaca is fully insured and bonded. We carry comprehensive liability insurance and are bonded to protect both you
and your pets.
Q6: What if my dog has special needs or medications?
We're experienced in caring for dogs with special needs, medical conditions, and medication requirements. During our
meet-and-greet, we'll discuss your dog's specific needs and create a customized care plan.
Q7: How many dogs do you walk at once?
We walk a maximum of 4 dogs at a time to ensure every pup gets individual attention and proper supervision. Dogs are
carefully matched based on size, temperament, and energy level.
Q8: What happens if there's a veterinary emergency?
In case of a medical emergency, we will immediately contact you and your emergency contact. If we cannot reach you, we
are authorized (via your signed waiver) to take your dog to the nearest veterinary hospital. All emergency veterinary costs
are the responsibility of the pet owner.
Q9: Do you provide updates during services?
Absolutely! We send photos and updates via text during walks and longer services. For overnight boarding, you'll receive
daily photo updates so you can see how much fun your pup is having!
Q10: What vaccinations are required?
All dogs must be current on rabies, distemper/parvo (DHPP), and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations. We require proof
of current vaccinations before the first service. This protects all the dogs in our care.
Q11: Can I meet you before booking?
Yes! In many cases this is possible, pending our calendar availability where we would offer a free meet-and-greet where
you, your dog, and Rick can get acquainted. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, discuss your dog's routine, and
ensure it's a good fit for everyone.
Q12: What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay), and ACH
bank transfers through our secure payment system. Full payment is required at the time of booking.
